In Memoriam of our Founder Don Sears

It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of Don Sears. He lost his battle with acute leukemia early on Sunday morning October 2nd, 2011.

He was truly a unique and special person from whom we all learned much and we will forever remember him – our founder, our mentor, our advocate and most importantly friend. He was a great advisor and confidant to many – always having time for friends, family and especially his employees. Don was a father figure to many and loved by all.

We know that Don loved life and lived it to the fullest for over 85 years. After his hard but short battle with leukemia, he is now finally at rest.

A fellow Mercedes-Benz dealer, Dana Hackney, of Cincinnati, Ohio, may have best described Don Sears the man when he said, “My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and the Sears organization. The Mercedes-Benz family lost a most respected voice, one that cannot be replaced. His view was formed from a life time of unique experiences, unlike any other. We are left to celebrate the life of this true American Entrepreneur, an original. I am most grateful to have known Don Sears."
